Prolific Lee Child (http://www.leechild.com/) struck again in 2012 with another Jack Reacher adventure. Jim Grant (the author’s true name) was actually born in Coventry but manages to set his yarns convincingly all over America. Child has a huge and enthusiastic following. If you’ve never been tempted by a thriller this is as good as any. The brief summary for this title is as follows. Nebraska – and Jack Reacher (ex-military police), huge, hulking and with a freshly busted nose, is still trying to hitch a ride to East Virginia. He’s picked up by three strangers – two men and a woman. Immediately he knows they’re all lying about something – and then they run into a police roadblock on the highway. But they get through. Because the three are innocent? Or because the three are now four? Is Reacher a decoy? 560 pages.
