Since We Fell

American author Dennis Lehane (http://dennislehane.com/) has written several novels, two of which have transferred successfully to the screen. These are Mystic River (2001) (a 2003 film directed by Clint Eastwood, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327056/) and Shutter Island (2003) (a 2010 film directed by Martin Scorsese, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1130884/?ref_=nv_sr_1). Directors are attracted to the author’s insightful and empathetic characterisation, his razor-sharp dialogue, the intriguing atmosphere he conjures, and the breakneck twists and turns. You may enjoy all of this in Lehane’s writing.

Lehane’s latest fiction is Since We Fell. The summary is as follows. Rachel’s husband adores her. When she hit rock bottom, he was there with her every step of the way as she slowly regained her confidence – and her sanity. But his mysterious behaviour forces her to probe for the truth about the man she calls husband. Can she feel certain that she ever knew him? And was she right to ever trust him? All very unsettling for a girl.
